Besties

The challenge this time came from The Flying Unicorn  and it was simple enough, to use a heart or hearts on a layout.  I had the perfect picture, Jack and Lucky sharing Jack's bed.   I started with Basic Grey's Kissing Booth line of papers, the were just perfect this layout. A quick punch on one of the corners, of course I have to have some punching somewhere.  Now I have had these Technique Tuesdays chipboard borders forever and have never used any of them but I could see them having a place on this layout which I wanted to keep quite simple yet a little elegant. So, I decided to cover a couple of them with paper.  I also had some negatives where I had removed the hearts and thought they would make a great design on the bottom border.  I curled a couple of pieces of paper to layer behind my photo, and also matted my photo for a bit more dimension.  A nice cluster of vellum envelopes from the same BG line, and a few brads from the same line and here is my layout.

Yes, of course I also did a page in my art journal... that is what I do best after all.  The prompt this time was "breath or breathe"  I choose a Quote by Lana Carrella.   I started by mixing Claudine Hellmout's Classic Teal paint with Canvas White to get three different shades, then I painted the background.  Then I used a stencil by Prima, and Stampedous'  Aged Hunter embossing powder.  Next I used my favourite script stamp from Heidi Swapp, (once again the name of the stamp is not on it) to stamp all over the page.  Tim Holtz' Bubble   stencil and a white Sharpie marker came next to put some texture on the page.  I then stamped a flower with a foam stamp and the same Classic Teal paint without mixing the paint with white this time.  Then I covered the flower with Glossy Accents Crackle medium.  A few unknown diecuts, and outlining with Pitt Artist Black pens and white Sharpie markers and it was finished.

Stay tuned for more, hopefully tomorrow.
