Happy and Merry Christmas

Yes, it is that time of year again. I am afraid I couldn't stop it from showing up. I did try to avoid it, but I guess my skills in avoidance need to be worked on. Anyway, after giving it some thought I took on a new client last week. I was somewhat worried that maybe I wasn't really better just having a spurt but then I realized that this was no spurt. I have watched a little TV but really have no desire to watch it anymore and I am always anxious to finish whatever I am doing so that I can get back to scrapping.So, yeah, I am back to full time scrapping. Anyway this is going to be fun to say the least. My new client has 2 young boys while the client I have been working for also has 2 boys, not to mention the fact that I have 3 grandsons. Designing pages for males, as you know (if you are a scrapper) can be quite challenging as there are so few embellishments you can use.

Anyway, I completed two layouts today. One for the Tuesday Tools, Tips and Technique challenges and one for the Wednesday stash challenge at Creative Inspiration.

This is my new clients youngest son celebrating his very first Christmas in 2013

This is her eldest son celebrating Christmas 2013
I used Bazzil cardstock, I marked the circles with my white gelly roll pen. The paper is Bo Bunny A gift of Love.The snowflakes were cut with a cut file from Sihouette by my Cameo and then I used Stickles angel dust on them. The title stickers are from the Dollarama. The stamps are Martha Stewart. The ribbon is unknown. The brads are unknown. I inked the paper using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. The Faux stitching on the papers were done with a Faber-Castel pen.

October's fun

Oh dear, I am so remiss when it comes to my blog.  It seems that I get so busy with other things that I keep forgetting to keep it up to date.  I promise you that from now on I will post daily.I know that I have lost most of my followers because of not keeping up but I will try to win you all back, I promise. :)

I have kept busy this month keeping up with the challenges at Creative Inspiration all 18 of them.  So lets start from the first one shall we.

Challenge #1: Card sketch challenge:
This is the sketch we were to use.
This is the card I created:

Challenge #2:Monday layout sketch challenge
This is the sketch:
This is the layout that I created:
Challenge #3: Tuesday tips, tricks and techniques: is to use a found object on your page.  It has to be something not found in your scrap room.  Some examples are cup cake liner, foil, netting, jewelry.

My layout:I used gauze which I misted with Lindy's spray inks.

Challenge #4:challenge to dig DEEEEEEP into your stash and find something REALLY old to use on your project
My layouts, because I did two, one of each of my nephews on their first day of school: I have just discovered Photo Play papers and they are absolutely the best papers I have played with so far. Awesome quality and so easy to match up with almost any photos... as you can see here, they go great for male photos and we all know how hard it is to find good paper for boys photos.so no that is not the deep into my stash part, the circles were made with my very old CM circle makers and the school days title came from years ago when I first started scrapping.  The clock stencil was among one of the first I purchased and this was the first time I used it and I have had the brads like forever. LOL

Challenge #5:Scraplift this page

This is the page I created:

Challenge #6: Use inspiration from this photo;

This is the inspiration I used:

Challenge #7:Let focus on making little cards and tags
This is what I did, I am not big into tags:

Challenge #8 Sunday card sketch challenge:

This is mine, for a change I created an hybrid card:

Challenge #9Once again it is time for the Monday sketch Challenge;

For this one I created a double layout, once again using the lovely Photo Play Mad4Play papers, they can be used for any kind of page.

Challenge #10:tuesday-tools-tips-and-techniques-challenge ChallengeToday I  challenge you to make an embellishment to go on your project.

Once again you see me using the papers from Photo Play. I HAVE to find out where I can find more of these papers. They are so very versatile. I made the sunglasses.

Challenge #11: challenge to make a card from your scrap stash and use a doily or part of a doily on it.

For this challenge I created this card:

Challenge #12:Today's scraplift is this card;

I am not really happy with mine, I need to go back and change the white background of the teddy bear to a cream colour one.

Challenge #13:Friday's Inspiration this week is from this page:

I created a black and white page with a coloured photo:

Challenge #14:Challenge to do a layout with a grid on it.
I have never been into the grid layouts and wasn't going to do this challenge but hey, a challenge is a challenge so I decided to do it and now I am glad I did because I am happy with how it turned out.

Challenge #15:Another Sunday card sketch challenge:

I really loved this sketch and was rather happy with the way mine turned out:

Challenge #16:Back to the Monday layout sketch challenges (are we starting to see a pattern here yet?)

I had so much fun creating this one, I got into the messy stuff, stencils, gesso, natural sand, crackle paste, and Lindy's ink I found some burlap and netting hiding in one of my drawers and dragged them out.. oh yeah like I said, this one was fun:

Challenge #17 Tuesday Tools, Tips and Techniques Challenge is to use both the positive and negative.

For this challenge I created a card I used a butterfly on the strip of ribbon beside the sentiment and I used the negative on the upper right hand corner.

Challenge #18 challenge to use ONLY CARDSTOCK on your project!!!  NO patterned papers!!!
It is funny how this could become such a hard challenge, but it was.

Well so there you have it.  I still have one more to complete tomorrow. Another scraplift challenge.   In case you hadn't noticed, there is a regularity through the challenges. Sunday - Card sketch day, Monday - Layout sketch day, Tuesday Tools, Tips and Techniques challenges, Wednesdays - stash challenges, Thursdays - scraplift days, Fridays- inspiration days, and Saturdays are all sorts days.

Please leave me a message to let me know you were here, and if you have a blog I would like to return the visit.  Thank you.
